I chose this article because we obsess about mental illness especially about Christopher' syndrome.
According to "Asperger syndrome", Dr. Trisha Macnair describes that a person who suffer from Asperger syndrome will be trouble in three major difficulties which are communication;judging and understanding other's body language, feeling and interest, social skills;obsessing with some particular things and misunderstanding in non verbal language causing to isolate from societies, and imagination;in other words, this patients are good in math and history but struggle in philosophy, religious education and creative arts. Dr. Macnair also states that although there are three main treatments such as behavioural therapy, appropriate specialist education and social skill training, the most important thing for treating is earlier diagnosis.
It is wondering that if Christopher is real, he could live with his friends now. In this article, Dr. Macnair mention that if these patients are older to be aware their abnormality, their condition will be worse. At least, we knew that if Christopher is trained social skills and taught appropriate specialist education, he could spend his rest life peacefully.
