Switching Window live messenger to Skype

During past ten years, a social-networking website becomes very popular among people. This is because it allows them to easily connect with one another via the Internet such as e-mail and instant messaging. You can talk face-to-face with your friends who are in a different continent which is very far away from you. Also, it is cheaper to communicate with other people via the Internet than telephone. There are many programs developed to share the same function. In addition, new useful features have been continuously developed to attract more users.

The BBC News Technology Microsoft ditches Windows Live Messenger for Skype” reports that Microsoft plans to cease Window live messenger service by March 2013, and replaces it with Skype's messaging tool. This is because a number of people using Window live messenger decrease every year, whereas a number of those using Skype increase over the period. When one product gains market share from another product of the same company, it is better to remain only one product and strengthen it.

I used to be addicted to Window live messenger. I had to go online every day after school when I was a teenager. There are several useful features available in this instant messaging. One feature that I think is very useful is a group chat. I could discuss with many friends at once when we were doing a group assignment. I did not have to chronologically call everyone in order to come with an agreement. As a result, it is not time-consuming. Moreover, I could chat with my friends who were abroad without paying any bucks. I could not only talk with my friends, I also see them via a camera feature. We could keep updated among another.

A few years later, Skype and Facebook were introduced to the social network. Many of friends and I switched to contact via these programs instead of Window live messenger. For me, I have no longer used Window live messenger since then. However, Window live messenger is usually upgraded its version. Yet, I have ever wondered who are still using Window live messenger at the present because I cannot see anyone used it. According to the article, I have just noticed that there are still some groups of people used it but the number of users rapidly drops over the years. Therefore, I agree that Microsoft will replace Window live messenger with Skype.
