No coffee drinking in 2080

In “Climate change threat to Arabica coffee crops” article, they reported that Arabica (one of two popular coffee plant) was threatened by climate change. The results of prediction showed that the best-case outcome was a 65% reduction and the worst- case result was a 99.7% reduction in 2080; however, their research based on three different carbon emission scenarios and they also tested in small scale.

I thought that climate change was the most important impact which the earth has been changed by human activities. The climate change was caused by several ordinary activities, such as, driving a car, burning waste and growing rice.

Driving a car and burning waste make Carbon dioxide gas from its combustion and release the gas to atmosphere directly. Driving a car is the popular carbon emission activities that people usually do around the world because they want to reach their destination comfortably, so they drive cars from their home to their work place every day. I cannot think about the day without cars, if cars never were invented. It might be look like cowboy movies. Therefore, I still supported using cars, but we should use the cars that have good technologies which did not emit carbon dioxide gas; such as, electric car or we should use more public transportation; for instant, BTS and MRT.

Growing rice does not release Carbon dioxide gas directly, but it emits Methane gas. Methane gas caused the increased temperature because it created the greenhouse on atmosphere of the earth, and then after that the temperature will increase as soon. Rice is the highest popular food in many countries and they grew rice every day. Therefore, we cannot avoid eating rice, but we can control the human population of people.

  1. I agree with you that car is a major cause of carbon dioxide emission. I don't think we concern much about this problem because the number of producing and using cars has been increasing enormously, especially our capital city or even our government policy about tax for the first car; it supports Thais buy a car. No sign that the number of these consumption will significantly decrease.
What will we do to be less use it?
