Blood types

Do you think your blood type have a significant impact on you?

The BBC Magazine article “Japan and blood types: Does it determine personality?” reports that Japanese people strongly believe that blood types are influential on one's temperament and personality. Sometimes this belief is applied in an unbelievable way. For example, a company selects only AB-type candidates to work for them because of the particular ability that is believed to be embedded in this blood type. Dividing people by their blood type can be deemed as discrimination.

In my opinion, not only Japanese people believe in the wisdom behind the blood type Thai people also share the same belief; however, not to the same extent. In Thailand, there are many books relating to a belief about blood types in the book stores. For instance, a book about what personalities are normally found in each blood type person, and a book advising how to confront with people with different blood types. In the recent year, blood type has become a very popular subject among health-concerned people because they believe that people with different blood types have different needs for their diet.

Anyhow, the interpretation of blood type came from statistical data that were collected from some groups of people. Perhaps it does not exactly reflect what type of person you are. This is because there are several factors that result in your personality such as culture, environment, and education. Consequently, some interpretation of blood types may be right for some people but not for others. We also cannot judge other people by what blood types they are.  It is unfair and unjust to judge a person by his or her blood type. It is like a proverb word “we cannot judge to book by its cover”.

  1. My sister also is interesting in blood types. She have at least 2 books about interpretation of blood type. She can tell a correct blood type for many people by their personality. Moreover, she said that if we can know blood type of other, we will understand others better, accept their personality easier and can deal with other emotion in any situations.

  3. Your post remind me some blood group cartoon. It is really interesting and sometime match with real blood group characters. In the cartoon, many situations, shows how A, B,AB and O people respond to particular situation when they are altogether, for example, eating launch, reaching each aim, or solving problem. There are various feedbacks from various blood types. Sometime the action is incredible, but it might be real. I am sorry that I cannot give any example because there are plenty of events and I cannot remember them in details.
