Technology plays a significantly role in our daily lives. It
facilitates us to have more convenient and better lives than before; however,
it is a double-edged sword.
The BBC News Education and Family article “Costly hi-tech
kit lies unused in schools, says study” reports that an expensive digital
technology supporting education is not frequently used to the best of its full
capacity due to lacking knowledge of teachers.
I think that the proverb “Never cast your pearls before
swine” best fit to this situation. If you give someone something and he does
not know how to use it or ever what it is, the thing will be useless for him.
As a result, we need to evaluate the receiver whether he deserves it or not in
order to make it useful. We should give to a person who notices its value so
that he will use it wisely. In order to respond to this problem, they need to
provide training to the teachers as well as children. As the technology has
been growing rapidly, training the users and developing technology should be improved
side-by-side. Improving one can contribute to the advancement of another.
Also, I think that this situation could apply to job
recruitment. The company should give its employees the suitable positions as
they say that “Put the right man on the right job”. If the company assigns its
employees to the positions that fit them, they will deem the task valuable and
make efforts to the jobs they assigned. Consequently, the company will run its operation
smoothly.
